2022 Class For Women In Poker Hall of Fame Announced
The Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF) last inducted new members in 2018 due to the pandemic. This year, the WiPHoF returned and intended initially to induct two new members. However, due to being one of the closest races in its history, the organization decided to double the number of inductees.
As such, the WiPHoF proudly announced last week that four new members are being inducted in 2022. Vanessa Selbst, Jennifer Tilly, Angelica Hael, and Terry King are all the latest members of the WiPHoF. This year’s class is a perfect mix of old-school and new-school poker, along with honoring the best and brightest in the poker industry.
Selbst and Tilly Highlight 2022 WiPHoF Class
The Women in Poker Hall of Fame announced its 2022 class this past Tuesday. The organization decided to double the number of inductees this year. Firstly, the organization has not inducted new members since 2018. Next, this year’s voting was so close that a small percentage of votes separated the top 4 vote-getters. This made the decision easy to double the size of the inauguration class.
The four women selected for the 2022 class are Vanessa Selbst, Jennifer Tilly, Angelica Hael, and Terry King. By and large, there are no real surprises for this inauguration class. Selbst’s induction was a no-brainer. She is easily the most dominant female live tournament player in history and #1 on the Women’s All-Time Money List.
Jennifer Tilly’s induction was long overdue. In 2005, Tilly won the Ladies’ Championship at the World Series of Poker. This helped to usher in a women’s poker boom and also helped launch her to poker superstardom. Many women are playing the game today due to Tilly’s influence, and she is well deserving.
Hael and King Round Out Nominations
Angelic Hael continues the tradition of the WiPHoF, recognizing the best and brightest in the poker industry. Hael is the Vice President of Global Tour Management at the World Poker Tour. She has been with the WPT for over 12 years and was instrumental in developing the WPT’s Women’s Poker Initiative. She has used her influence to grow both the women’s game and poker as a whole globally.
Terry King is likely the name most people will not recognize, despite her being a part of the poker industry for decades. She is a former poker dealer and an old-school high-stakes poker player. King won the WSOP Ladies Championship in 1978. She has been part of the poker industry for over 50 years and has actively documented many stories from poker’s past. She is best known nowadays for running poker and gambling-related Facebook groups.
The WiPHoF is famous for balancing its inductions with influential players and industry makers. This year’s class is a perfect example of this fact.
Induction to Be Held December 14th

With the new class announced, now comes the actual induction ceremony. The Women in Poker Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on December 14th, 2022, at the Poker Go Studios in the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
This will be the first induction for the WiPHoF since 2018 and the first time since 2008 that the hall has inducted four new members. The inaugural class of 2008 saw Barbara Enright, Linda Johnson, Marsha Waggoner, and Susie Isaacs all inducted. The induction ceremony will be broadcast live on PokerGo.
